So I was looking around and saw this – [https://www.reddit.com/r/mealprep/comments/uw1s3h/food\_safety\_guide/](https://www.reddit.com/r/mealprep/comments/uw1s3h/food_safety_guide/)

Now, I understand that there’ll be variation, and I shouldn’t treat this as law, but I had a question.

Where does Rice and Pasta fall under this idea?

On the one hand, I see health recommendations saying to use rice immediately, or to cool it within an hour, put it in the fridge and use within 24h.

Yet, I’ll watch a youtube video of a guy making a batch of 10 rice dishes going “They’ll last for 5 days in the fridge, or longer if you freeze”.

I see other resources saying that freezing rice costs you the flavour, and so you shouldn’t do it.

So if I want to create Rice or Pasta based dishes in larger batches, whats the recommended storage duration for Fridge or Freezing, and is it worth the trouble?
